Paul Druckman

Paul is Chief Executive Officer of the IIRC. Paul is well known and respected in business and in the accounting profession worldwide. Following an entrepreneurial career in the software industry, Paul operated as a non‐executive chairman and director for companies in a variety of sectors until taking over this post. Formerly a Director of the UK Financial Reporting Council; member of the City Takeover Panel; and President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). Other interests have included chairing The Prince’s Accounting for Sustainability Project (A4S) Executive Board.

Shigeru Nishiyama

Stefano Zambon

Stefano Zambon (PhD) is Chair of Accounting and Business Economics at the University of Ferrara, Italy. Visiting appointments in universities of four continents. He has more than 100 publications in books and international journals in the areas of management and reporting of intangibles, international financial reporting, and accounting theory and history. Coordinator of the 2003 Study for the European Commission on the measurement of intangible assets. Member of the expert group that in 2006 has prepared the EC Study "RICARDIS" on Intangibles in research-based SMEs. Invited key-note speaker at OECD, United Nations, European Parliament, European Commission, and French, Chinese and Japanese Governments’ events on intangibles. In 2013 he has been a member of the European Commission's Expert Group on "IP Valuation". From April 2014 he is the President of the of the official Expert Group on Intangibles set up by the French Government. Founding member of the Global Network “World Intellectual Capital Initiative” (WICI), of which he is Deputy Chairman from July 2013. He is also Chairman of WICI Europe and Secretary General of WICI Italy.

Hitoshi Funahashi

After experience in developing chemicals for overseas sales, export operations, and national bidding at a general trading company, Mr. Funahashi joined Recruit Corporation in 1987. He was assigned to a human resources general services division and then to a new business development office. In 1996, he led the creation of a business incubation division in the company. He also began the magazine Entre and started to provide venture companies with comprehensive support services combining the functions of a magazine, the Internet, events, and individual consulting.
In 2000, he took over Recruit’s business support services project and established Actcell Corporation.
In 2001, Actcell went into partnership with ICAB (Intellectual Capital Sweden AB), a Swedish intellectual capital rating company, and obtained the license for its IC Rating® approach for evaluating substantive corporate value that is not clearly listed on balance sheets, and successfully developed a Japanese version of this rating method.
In 2003, Actcell acquired the capital of ICAB, and in 2010 made the Swedish company a subsidiary.
Mr. Funahashi is an advocate of intellectual capitalism, which ensures fair and appropriate profits for all stakeholders of companies including top executives, employees, partners, customers, and shareholders. He is actively engaged in studying and implementing ICMG’s own approaches to intellectual capital management.

Yasuhito Hanado

Prof. Emeritus of Kokugakuin Univ. / WICI Japan Top Advisor

Yasuhito HANADO left a professor at Graduate School of Commerce and of Asia-Pacific Studies,WasedaUniversityon reaching retiring age in 2012. However he still works for Waseda Intellectual Capital Research Society as a senior adviser. And he is a professor emeritus at Kokugakuin University in Tokyo. He is in charge of the president of Knowledge Management Society of Japan and of a trustee of The Japan Academic Society of Investor Relations. In addition, he engages himself in a member of the planning and development committee at Japanese Investor Relations Institute. Presently, he works for both Idemitsu Kosan Co. Ltd. (1st section of TSE) and Opt Inc. (1st section of TSE) as a member of management advisory committee. He joined WICI-The World’s Business Reporting Network as one of Promoting Parties of Japan in 2007. He graduated in accounting from Graduate School of Commerce, Waseda University. He joins American Accounting Association, National Investor Relations Institute and Japan Accounting Association.

Takuya Fukumoto

Takuya Fukumoto has been Director of the Corporate Accounting, Disclosure and CSR Policy Office since July 2012. After having obtained a degree in Economics from Keio University, he joined the Japanese Government in 1996. He was involved in a variety of policy developments mainly in the field of trade and industrial policy. During his stay in the United Kingdom from 2001 to 2003, he received an MSc. Economics and an MSc. Economics and Philosophy from the London School of Economics and Political Science. After finishing postgraduate study in 2003, he was involved in negotiations of free trade agreements between Japan and South Asian countries as a representative of the Japanese Government. From March 2006, he served as Deputy Director of the Business Support Division in the Small and Medium Enterprise Agency of Japan. From 2008 to 2012, he was appointed Secretary General of the Japan Business Council in Europe (JBCE), a Brussels-based organisation representing Japanese companies operating in Europe, where he actively supported Japanese companies’ communications with European policy makers and contributed to the EU public policy making.

Mr. Sato is a founder and managing partner at Value Create, Inc. Earlier Mr. Sato was head of the capital goods team at Financial Research Center, Nomura Securities, as well as the Senior MD, Chief Analyst and Head of Research at an IT research house.

Mr. Takegahara joined the Development Bank of Japan in 1989 after graduating from the School of Law of Hitotsubashi University. His postings have included the Economic & Industrial Research Department, the Policy Planning Department, and the Frankfurt Overseas Representative Office, where he was Chief Representative. He assumed his present position in May 2011.
He has been instrumental in encouraging the financial markets to take account of non-financial information, most notably through his work on the DBJ Environmentally Rated Loan Program, the world’s first lending instrument with lending conditions that reflect how well a firm is addressing its environmental responsibilities. He has held numerous public offices, including as co-chairman of the steering committee for the Ministry of the Environment’s Principles of Financial Behavior for a Sustainable Society.

He joined OMRON in 2007 as an Audit & Supervisory Board Member (full-time) and assumed his current role in 2011. Nobuhiro Kajiwara

After working for a foreign IR company, Mr. Kajiwara founded Edge International, Inc. in 1990, and assumed the role of chief executive officer. For more than 30 years, he has supported IR communication efforts between Japanese companies and foreign investors. With the belief that the foundation of IR is implementing honest, highly transparent business management and following through with thorough and consistent communication in an accountable manner, he has worked on annual reports dealing with planning and consulting for over 100 Japanese companies. In recent years, he has helped popularize integrated reporting and disclosure of ESG information. He also supervised and published “Ways to Recognize Management You Can Trust―Still Continuing to Invest Without Reading the Annual Report?” (Sigma Base Capital Corporation), in 2008. He graduated from Keio University in 1982.

Takayuki Sumita

Director General for Oil, Gas and Mineral Resources, METI

Takayuki SUMITA, born in 1962, graduated from Tokyo University and joined MITI in 1985. He studied in Graduate School for Foreign Service, Georgetown University between 1991 and 1993. After coming back to Japan, he engaged in various tasks including environment policy, energy policy, specific industry policy for software and IT, comprehensive economic policy on corporate tax, corporate disclosure, intellectual assets based management or IPR and FTA/EPA negotiation. METI dispatched him to Brussels between 2009 and 2013 with the function of deepening the connection and cooperation between EU and Japan. Since June 2013, he works for energy policy in the current post. He had also worked as the chairman of World Intellectual Capital/Assets Initiative (WICI) since September 2009 until June 2013, focusing on the new mechanism of corporate reporting ranging from financial to non-financial matters. As the Chair of WICI, he signed the MOU with IIRC while serving as a member of its WG. Moreover, he has been a board member of the New Club of Paris since 2005, as one of the world leaders in the area of intellectual capital/ assets and innovation.

Osamu Hamada

Osamu is a Deputy Director at the Corporate Accounting and Disclosure Division of the Financial Services Agency of Japan. After working at Toyota Motor Corporation, he entered Nagashima Ohno & Tsunematsu in 2008 and provided legal services principally in the area of M&A, antitrust and general corporate matters. In 2014, he entered the Financial Services Agency and now has participated mainly in amendment of disclosure rules and compile of the corporate governance code of Japan.

Masayuki Sawada

Mr. Masayuki Sawada is a head of KPMG Japan Integrated Reporting Advisory Group since the group was founded in July 2012 where he serves a number of clients with integrated reporting advisory. Mr. Sawada joined KPMG AZSA LLC in 2007 and was a vice-head of the Risk Advisory HQ and engaged in a wide variety of advisory services centered on internal control system advisory services as well as IFRS conversion services until he co-founded the IFRS Division (presently called the “Accounting Advisory Service Division”) in 2010 to provide many accounting advisory services including IFRS conversion and other related management services. Prior to KPMG, Mr. Sawada was a head of the Internal Control Advisory Division to led the provision of internal control advisory services at a major auditing firm. Mr. Sawada took a post at the Detroit office in PricewaterhouseCoopers in1999 and returned to Japan in 2002 to engage in the global audit and US-SOX302/404 advisory services for a major automotive company.
Mr. Sawada is currently a member of the Integrated Reporting Assurance experts working group with Japan Institute of certified Public Accountants and is an author of many books and articles.

Mr. Sawada graduated from the Commercial Science Department of Keio University in 1990.
